1. Longhorn Football Viewing
Are you interested in watching the Texas vs. Oklahoma football game? This year is the 100th time the teams facing each other on the football field and the first time in 6 years we are a stronger team than Oklahoma. We have got the DVD of the game and we are going to show it to our fellow alumni. Details are as follows:

2. Flying Longhorns Dinner in with UT Shanghai Alumni
Once a year, the Flying Longhorns (a UT alumni overseas travel program) will go to China and have a dinner with the Longhorns there. This year, the dinner will happen in Shanghai this Friday and it is a big group of TX-Exes coming to town. If you are in Shanghai now, you are invited to join. Here are the details:
Date: October 21, 2005
Time: 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm
Venue: Xiao Nan Guo on Nanjing Road, next to the Portman Hotel (99 Nanjing Road West, tel: +86 (21) 3208-9777)
Price: RMB 150 per person
What’s in the price: Chinese style dinner with 8 cold dishes, 10 warm dishes, 2 desserts, fruits, 6 beers and 6 cokes. Addition drinks are on your own.

3. Happy Hour Email
You may have received an email message about a happy hour scheduled for August 29. We did not send out the email. We suspect that there is a problem in one of our service providers’ system that mistakenly sent out an email we scheduled two years ago. We apologize for any inconvenience caused. We will take steps to ensure that it will not happen again.
4. Voluntary Membership Fee
Again, it is about voluntary membership fees as we still need your support here. With your financial support we will be able to organize some greater events which need more financial resources or involve more financial risks. If you are interested to support us, please go to our web site at https://hktx.org/ and click “Voluntary Membership Fees” on the home page to pay through PayPal with your credit cards. Members who pay membership fees will receive discounts for attending our activities while their paid membership is in effect. They and other donors will also be recognized in our web site.
