What is Green Power?

Green Power was founded in 1988 by a group of dedicated volunteers who were concerned about local environmental problems. We have always made environmental education our foremost priority, as we believe that education is the ultimate means of transforming our thinking and behaviour.

Green Power is a charitable institution. Their work is supported solely by donations, fund-raising and corporate sponsorship.

What is Green Power Hike?

Green Power Hike, the largest race along the 50-km Hong Kong Trail, is an annual charitable walkathon for Green Power. In 1994, only over a hundred participants joined. In 2000, it mobilized around 3,000 participants to walk for a green cause. In the past 17 years, more than 37,000 people have participated in the Green Power Hike, raising more than HK$44 million to help realise a green future.

Through Green Power Hike, Green Power wants to inspire people to better appreciate the natural environment, and to raise funds so we can implement many environmental, educational and conservation programmes.
