Our alumnus Dr C.K. Shum (PhD 1992) recently received the Distinguished Scholar Award at Ohio State University. The award recognizes exceptional scholarly accomplishments by senior professors at Ohio State who have compiled a substantial body of research, as well as the work of younger faculty members of the university who have demonstrated great scholarly potential. Recipients are nominated by their departments and chosen by a committee of senior faculty.
To honor his achievement, Hong Kong Texas Exes is giving Dr Shum the first ever Distinguished Alumnus Award. Dr Shum will be in Hong Kong next week and the award will be given to him on April 7, 2009 when a dinner will be held for the occasion. He will make a short presentation about his scholastic achievement in the event. Here are the details of the dinner:
