Texas in Texas Bowl Live Watching Party

Report

From Newsletter #8:

The Texas Football team started the season not quite well.  In the middle of the season a lot of Texas Football fans were convinced that it would be a season without a bowl game for the team.  Eventually, the team won three of the last four games to make itself eligible for a bowl game: Texas Bowl.  While many students, staffers, and alumni were hoping Texas would face Texas A&M (one of our old archrivals which has now moved to Southeastern Conference), another old rival Arkansas Razorbacks was selected to play our team.

Before the bowl game, Texas had won 56 times out of the 77 meetings between the two teams.  The kick off happened at 10am December 30 Hong Kong time.  It was a Tuesday, a work day.  Still, a number of us gathered in Old China Hand in Wanchai to watch the game live together.  Despite our team lost the game, the participants enjoyed the time that they spent together eating and chatting.  The party ended at 2pm.
